Cake Boards can be used as a serving platter and should be 2 to 4 inches larger than the cake to allow for bottom border and serving. Cake Boards are corrugated for strength and white on one side.
Cover with foil or a doily.
Cake Boards can even be doubled for extra strength. Simply cross grain and tape together. Wedding cake layers can be placed directly on Cake Boards without any covering when using with separator plates. If used between cake tiers, cover Cake Board with aluminum foil then dowel rods will mend into the aluminum foil to help secure cakes together.
